一、 论坛简介 Introduction
为促进海内外优秀青年学者的学术交流和深度合作，bat365正版官方网站举办年度青年科学家（学者）国际论坛，并依托各学部（院、系）设立不同学科和领域的分论坛。通过专题报告、学术研讨与实地考察，增进海内外优秀青年学者对bat365正版官方网站、对上海的了解。至今，论坛已成功举办二期，来自多个国家和地区的120余位优秀青年学者参加交流。
To promote academic exchanges and in-depth cooperation between outstanding young scholars at home and abroad, ECNU has taken the initiative to host the annual international forum for young scientists (scholars). During this period, the university's faculties, schools, and departments will also host sub-forums based on different disciplines and academic areas. Through invited speeches on specific topics, academic discussion, and on-the-spot investigation, the forum aims at enhancing the participants' understanding of ECNU and Shanghai. By now, the forum has been held twice, with more than 120 participants from various countries and regions.

三、 报名条件（满足以下两条之一）
Application Requirements (Applicants should meet one of the following two requirements)：
1．年龄在35周岁以下（文科可为40岁以下），具有海内外知名高校、研究机构博士学位，有连续3年及以上的科研工作经历（成果特别突出的可突破工作年限要求），在所从事的学科前沿领域取得突出的学术成果。学科领域包括地理学和大气科学的所有二级学科与专业，包括但不限于：自然地理学、环境地理学、气候学、气象学、地图学与地理信息系统、遥感、测绘学、人文地理学、地理教育等。
2．在海内外知名高校、科研机构及企业研发机构有正式教学科研职位，在所从事学科前沿领域取得突破性成果，具有重要影响力。
1. Applicants should be aged below 35 (or 40 for humanities and social sciences), with a PhD degree from prestigious Chinese or foreign institutions of higher learning, and an overseas research experience of 3 years in succession (those with exceptional research achievements are not restricted by the number of years working overseas), and have made outstanding academic achievements in the frontier area. Research field of applicants ranges from Geography to atmospheric sciences including all of their second-level disciplines. It includes (but is not limit to) Physical Geography, Environmental Geography, Human Geography, Climatology, Meteorology, Cartography and GIS, Remote sensing, Geomatics, Geographic education etc.
2. Applicants hold official teaching or research positions in prestigious Chinese or foreign institutions of higher learning, research institutes, or in the R&D department of famous enterprises and have made breakthroughs in their frontier areas. They should also have important academic and social influence.
四、 差旅住宿 Travel Reimbursement & Accommodation
学校为受邀的参会者提供往返机票（欧美地区最高报销1.2万元人民币/人，其他国家或地区最高报销0.6万元/人），国内受邀者往返旅费按国家相关财务规定实报实销，并统一安排论坛期间的免费食宿。
ECNU will reimburse round-trip air tickets for invited participants (up to RMB 12,000 yuan/person for participants from Europe and America and to RMB 6,000 yuan for participants from other countries or regions). Travel expenses for invited participants from China will be reimbursed upon presentation of original receipts based on the relevant state financial policies. Accommodation during the forum is free and will be arranged by the university.

The predecessor of School of Geographic Sciences (SoGS), i.e., department of Geography of ECNU, was found in 1951 and was the firstly-established Geography among the Chinese Universities since 1949. At the time, it was mainly composed of the former department of Geography of Zhejiang University. In March 2014, the foundation of School of Geographic Sciences was officially announced. Historically, SoGS is one of first members which have been qualified for awarding the Geography doctoral degree, the first group hosting the post-doctoral fellowship in Geography, and one of first two members of which the Physical Geography has been graded as the key discipline. Geography is well award-winning during its development and has been ranked as the National key discipline, the “Top priority discipline” of Shanghai (Physical Geography, 2000), the “First-class discipline” of Shanghai (2012), the “Summit and Plateau discipline” of Shanghai (2015), and become the top 1% ESI discipline (Geoscience, 2016). In 2017, Geography is evaluated as Category A and ranked third in the Fourth discipline evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and enters the subjects of national "Double First-rate" strategy.

SoGS has the top-level teaching and research resources, plenty of academic achievements and multi-level student training programs. It is currently comprised of five Research Teams: 1) Urban Physical Geographic processes and modelling, Global changes and environment evolution, Remote sensing and GIS, Geographic Spatial analysis and computation, Geographic education and innovation development. It is facilitated with several high-level teaching and research unites which includes the National Science Talent Training Base in Geography, National VR Geography Teaching Center, GIS key lab of Ministry of Education, Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Shanghai etc. There are 73 staffs in the school so far, of which 32 are Professor, 20 associated Professor, 7 granted by the National Talent program and 6 holding the Shanghai Talent program. In the past 5 years, it has been granted by the national projects like National Key research and Development program, National Natural Science funds etc., and has published hundreds of high quality research papers in the peer-reviewed journals including the Science Advances, Nature Communications. SoGS aims to train the students multi-disciplinarily, in the viewpoint of localization and globalization and in the guide of social demands, and to qualify the graduates with the practical, interdisciplinary and high-level research capacities. Recently, it have signed the “2+2” joint-training graduate program with Cincinnati University (U.S.), UT Dallas and Queensland University (Australia) respectively, the “1.5+1.5” joint-training postgraduate program with Cincinnati University. Today, SoGS has become one of high-quality cultivation bases for Geographic talents and top-level Geography research centers in China.
